Sometimes you encounter situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but smile. It's like your brain tries to process the sheer extent of destruction and just gives up, opting for laughter as a coping defense.

But then, you remember that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.

After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of confusion. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this some kind of twisted art experiment?

Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Catastrophe of Epic Proportions

The volcanic eruption struck with devastating force, ravaging entire villages in its sweep. Buildings collapsed like sandcastles, and the chaos that ensued was deafening. Dreadful Day Ever

It all started with the case of morning hair. I couldn't figure it to look presentable. As I was running out the door, I stumbled and gracefully all over myself. To make matters worse, I was extremely running behind for a very important appointment.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
